The Demolition of the Macy’s Building is complete! The CityLine Team is excited for the next phase of this block. Our design and development teams have submitted permit documents that reflect the approved entitlement packages for both the north and south ends of this parcel. The permitting process will take approximately four to nine months at which time we will likely start the excavation of our two- level below grade garage. In the meantime, we will be leaving up the existing temporary fence surrounding the location for the former Macy’s building for safety purposes. However, we will be releasing the fencing around the temporary park and surface parking lot surrounding the redwood trees so that they can be used by all during the summer. We truly appreciate your interest in our projects and the redevelopment of Downtown Sunnyvale. If you have any questions about the upcoming projects, they can be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org or CItyLine Construction line 800 337 9344.
I’m sure that many Sunnyvale residents will be happy to know that we’ve started the interior abatement of the old Macys building located at 200 W. Washington, Sunnyvale, CA in preparation of removing the building this summer! The abatement activities are the first step to taking down the building and should last for a few more weeks. At this point we’re expecting to start demolishing the building on or about June 1st, including the sky bridge to Parking Garage 2 onsite, and the total of that work will take a few months to complete. In the meantime we’ve already installed a fence around the building to maximize safety, but we’ve not included the parking lot and temporary park area south of the building within our fence so that they can continue to be used during the demolition activities.
